This week my little monkey turned 4 years old!!! And so, I am of course crying in the corner, curled up in a ball. I think the passing of time, and watching him grow so fast, makes me sad because I know I only have a few short years left with this little boy who loves me unconditionally and thinks his parents are his whole world. Some day, very soon, he will begin to roll his eyes at me, fake enthusiasm for simple little things that currently fascinate him, and possibly forget to be thankful for all that we give him. BUT, that big boy isn't here yet. I still have an adorable little guy, who thinks I am the coolest thing, like, ever. And so, I give him donuts on his birthday. Because he still thinks donuts make a day special. And what is more special than a birthday?!? NOTHING!! It is a day for us all to thank God for blessing this world with your life.
NOTE TO NOAH: You wanted a Star Wars party for at least six months leading up to your birthday. And this was the first year that you were not only excited about the theme you picked, but you were also able and excited to help me with the planning! You helped me make cookies, you helped with the Death Star Piñata, and you helped me with the lightsaber pretzels. All the while you kept telling me "my friends are going to love [__insert craft/food here___]!!" Your enthusiasm for your party was contagious, and I was so happy to see that what I was doing was making you happy. You were also so grateful and thankful for everything we did on your special day. Daddy was home for your actual birthday, and so we all went out to Venditori, an Italian restaurant here in Auburn. The waitress brought you special Superman ice-cream (that was colored gelato.)
