3/52

3/52

We had three snow days this week. Yep, snow in Alabama.  School was cancelled on Tuesday because of the impending doom of snow storm Leon, but we spent most of the day hunkered down inside watching icicles form outside, but no sign of snow.  Very frustrating for a three year old to understand.  Just when we had about given up, around 4:00pm the snow flurries started, and soon the sky was full of huge snowflakes!  Such an exciting couple of days of playing snowball fights with our friends and neighbors, using redneck sleds made of baking sheets and plastic lids, and making small snowmen (there was enough snow, but it was very dry and would not pack very well.) This week's photo was taken the moment Noah was all snowstorm suited up, and stepped outside into falling snow for the first time in his life.  He was very excited and fascinated by it all.  I love the wonder you can see on his face.  Now, of course, we are paying the piper from all the snow play, because Noah has strep throat. Poor guy!  I think the snow was worth it though!

NOTE TO NOAH:  You told me that the day we went sledding was the best day ever! (You like to say that a lot though, because you are pretty happy most of the time.) Wednesday morning you woke up to our roof and yard covered in a blanket of snow, and you so very sweetly and genuinely said to me "Merry Christmas Mommy!"  You also kept calling the "sled" a surfboard, which made me laugh, and just shows you can take the boy out of California but you can't take the California out of the boy. :)
