Something that has been on my heart for the past few months has been reviving my blog. I am not quite sure why I abandoned it in the first place. I blame Instagram really. It is like a mini-blog center. But the thing is that this blog categorizes years, months, times in my life in a way that Instagram does not. And I have found myself very often looking back at certain months/times when Noah was a baby a reading how I felt, at that very moment. Times were tough y'all. Anyone with a newborn knows that. But the thing that people don't tell you (or they do and you don't choose to hear it) is that your child grows up and those hard times become distant memories. Do they get replaced by other difficult parenting moments? For sure. But each stage, though it seems to drag when you are in it, is really just a fleeting moment in the big picture of life. And here it is almost four years later, and I can hardly remember what those days were like. I mean, really like. I wanted to start capturing and chronically those moments again. And a friend suggested the Project 52. Once a week, putting down my iPhone, grabbing my SLR and my child, and capturing something. Anything. This seems like a challenge that I can accept. The 365 project would have done me in. But I think once a week I can manage that. So I have to play a little catch-up as it is now January the 14th.
Here is 1/52:
Note to Noah- I want to always remember how much you are into Curious George right now! It started at Halloween time when we watched the "No Noggin" halloween special on PBS. Then you started watching the episodes, and Grammie got you the Curious George movie for Christmas. You talk to us like George in squeaky monkey voices, and a lot of the time you try to convey yourself without using any words. It just cracks us up (and annoys us all at the same time.)
